Health Champion course content and delivery/assessment method
The Health Champion course consists of 4+ units:

Peer Leadership

Health Improvement

Encouraging Physical Activity

Encouraging a Healthy Weight and Healthy Eating
Optional Units:

Understanding alcohol misuse

Understanding body image
-
Developing confidence and self esteem
-
Understanding feelings and emotions

Recognising and dealing with bullying

Understanding drugs and substance misuse

Develop an awareness of relationships and sexual health

Smoking awareness
Taught element (taught courses only)
This course is delivered over a minimum of one day. More days would be required if additional units are chosen.
Distance learning element:
One task is given as homework and must be completed before certification can commence.
Assessments:

Completion of a Learner Assessment Record which includes worksheets

Homework task of leading a health and fitness initiative
-
Additional assessments may be required depending upon optional units chosen
Course duration:
You have up to 12 months* to complete your course. However, it is common for students to complete their Health Champion qualification in 1 month.
